APPL Players,

We are pleased to announce that the 2027 Fast Track Appeal process will open on July 15, 2026, in preparation for the 2027 Winter Season.

2027 Fast Track Appeals

Appeals may only be submitted to move up one skill level. There are no downward appeals.

Beginning July 15, 2026, eligible players may submit a Fast Track Appeal by logging into the APPL website https://arizonapickleballplayersleague.org/.

Click on Resources (top right-hand side), click on Player Resources, scroll down to Ratings & Appeals Forms and click on Fast Track Appeal.  Complete the form.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for a Fast Track Appeal, you must meet both of the following requirements:

1. Your APPL Index must be within 0.10 of the next higher skill level.

Examples:

  • 2.90 or higher to appeal to 3.0
  • 3.40 or higher to appeal to 3.5
  • 3.90 or higher to appeal to 4.0
  • 4.40 or higher to appeal to 4.5

AND

2. You competed at the requested skill level during the 2026 APPL season and played a minimum of one match.

If Your Appeal Is Approved

  • Your roster rating will be adjusted to the approved skill level for the 2027 season.
  • Your individual APPL Index will remain unchanged.

Important Information

  • Players may compete only at their approved skill level.
  • Players approved through Fast Track are not eligible to play as an exception at another skill level.
  • Downward appeals are not permitted.
  • The 2027 season will be the final year of the Fast Track Appeal process.

Player Examples

Example 1

A player with a 3.44 APPL Index who chooses not to Fast Track to 3.5 may:

  • Play on a 3.0 team AND play as an exception player on a 3.5 team.

This option provides flexibility to participate at both skill levels.

Example 2

  • A player who Fast Tracks to 3.5 may compete only on a 3.5 team and is not eligible to play as an exception at another skill level.
