Madi Nash is asking to appeal from 3.95 to 4.5. She is a special case and I spoke to Greg about her and he agrees with me that she should be allowed to play up.

Madi is 31 years old and an exceptional athlete. She was a star soccer player and softball player locally and picked the paddle up a little over one year ago. I played with her in the beginning teaching her rules and drilling with her regularly. I hooked her up with several teaching pros as she was progressing quite rapidly. I tried to get a 4.0 18+ team to take her last year as I saw the potential but she was an unknown entity.

Madi played throughout the season with her mother dominating the 3.5 competition. Their team won the league and qualified for state. Madi and Victoria chose not to go as Madi was involved in other tournament play at that time.

Madi played only three matches. 2 with her mother and 1 with a 3.2 player. After that her index rose from 3.7 to 3.95 in three matches. She chose to go off and play in match point tournaments after that.

Her DUPR is 3.99 but that came from two tournaments early in her year. After the tournaments she played in were not dupr rated.

I believe she is the future of young Appl players and is a draw for others. I recommend the appeal be approved.

Michael played in the APPL league 2023-2025. He is 75 yo, his current APPL Index Rating is 3.66 and he would like to appeal/play 3.0. In 2023, his rating was not affected due to playing in a merged/pilot division. In 2024, he played in a combined 50+/65+ 3.5 flight, won 6 games and lost 18 games. In 2025, he played in a 65+ 3.5 flight, won 18 games and lost 18 games. He is requesting an appeal based on a medical condition, arthritis/tendonitis in his playing wrist. Based on last year results, he seems to be at the correct level (3.5)

Nancy has been a solid 3.0 player for several years. As a coach/captain, Nancy ends up playing with the players no one else wants to play with. Nancy has a good well rounded game. She dinks, can do overheads and thinks about strategy. Nancy is very slightly built and I believe her lack of strength is the only thing that keeps her from being a 3.5 player. I would approve Nancy's appeal as she has done the work to be a 3.0 but constantly puts others first. Her average rating this past year is 2.917 which is well within the auto appeal boundaries.

Nicole has a 3.36 rating and wants to appeal to 4.0. She won 8. matches and lost 14 at 3.5 this past season. She and her partner scored 168 points and the opponents scored 244.

She states her DUPR is 4.078 from the most recent tournament last week. She played 3.0 not 3.5 while her dupr going in was a 3.567. The opponents were an average of 2.98 players. Her rating was artificially inflated by playing down in a league she was over qualified to play in.

Her reading in APPL began this year at 3.52 and dropped match over match to 3.36.

I feel like the DUPR is not accurate due to sandbagging in 3.0 and the Appl reflects that she did not hold her own in the 3.5 league.

I don't recommend the approval as the stats do not warrant it.

She will totally dominate with any partner she plays with and she did play with many different partners which also shows she is dominating at 3.0

June is 65, no apparant medical issues so I feel she should stay at 3.5 where she will be competitive.
She is not on a community based team as she states so should be able to find another team at 3.5

50, 65 mens
In mixed he won 21 games and lost 16. He scored 16 appl points in those 16 losses and allowed 11 in the 21 wins.
in mens he won 13 and lost 11 scoring 7 appl points in the 11 losses and allowing 7 appl points in the 13 wins.

he basically pretty much split everything on both teams. He did better within the mixed, he played regularly with his wife.

In his mixed matches he jumped .09 in the first three games. then he dropped down .01 in next two and back up 1.12 in the third one.

in mens he dropped .01, then went back up 1.01 and then down. .01 and then back up 1.12.

While he says he 'didn't win anything' in tournaments he regularly took silver and one bronze. That means he made it to the medal rounds. This was in 4.0. these were in 21-23

His dupr is currently 4.475 and stale since 2023. At one time his dupr got as high as 4.771 in 23.

He may not have competed in the last couple of years but he played 61 games last year which definitely gives a picture of what he is capable of even though he says 60 is not enough to give him an index.

He will end up playing in the same league next year as he did this year with combined 4.0 and 4.5. I think he will do well and should be a 4.5
