Southern | Renee | Craddock | 3.75 | 4.0 | Approved | Workflow Complete | I am very familiar with this player. I was a sub on her team last year and played with her in two matches. We had never been on the court together before these matches. We did will winning approximately 50% of the games and getting the APPL point in the majority of the games. The team went on to win State. Renee played only four matches all year, two with me and two with a 4.18 player. Their results were similar to mine. At state only one of the matches was reported. Renee played with yet two new partners at state. Renee is a very strong player coming from a high level tennis background. She had her knee replaced two years ago so was unable to play that season. She came back this year very strong. She is one of the players that people like to play with as she understands strategy and is thoughtful about how her shot affect her partner. She drills with me and plays multiple times pers week in round robin play with 4.0 to 4.5 players. Her rating has steadily increased over the years and given the right partnership this year on our team, she will likely raise her rating to over 4.0. I believer her play style and play lever warrant the rating of 4.0 |

Southern | Jill | Anderson | 3.71 | 4.0 | Rejected | Workflow Complete | Jill is a 3.71 wishing to play at 4.0. She started 2.25 at 3.87 and dropped each game. She played one match in January and one match in March. She won only 33 points in 12 games which averages less than 3 pts per game. She had 132 points scored against her. She said she has done lots of drilling and work on the court this summer, which I think is good, however, there really is not enough data to warrant the 4.0 jump. In 2024 she played 3 matches in mixed double 3.5. She was competitive. Her rating went from 3.7 to 3.87 which qualified her for a fast track appeal to 4.0 this past year. I have no idea if she has a dupr. The only Jill Anderson I could find that was close in age had a rating of 3.52 I do not feel that her current rating shows that she is strong enough to play 4.0. I recommend another year at 3.5 and she can play on 4.0 as an exception if they have room.

Southern | Julie | Zeilenga | 3.69 | 4.0 | Rejected | Workflow Complete | I have mixed feelings. This person has no documentable history of her skills either in pickleball or tennis since 2022.. My tennis playing friends state that a 4.0 tennis is like a 3.5 pickleball. She states she plays with 4.0 players but what does that even mean? Her rating from 2022 is 3.69. I feel that the fact that she had no documentation is too great. Her Dupr is 3.545. She has no pickleball brackets account. She has 2 wins and 6 losses in 3.5 in Dupr with the most recent one played in 2024

Southern | Michael | Duwe | 3.66 | 3.0 | Rejected | Workflow Complete | Michael played in the APPL league 2023-2025. He is 75 yo, his current APPL Index Rating is 3.66 and he would like to appeal/play 3.0. In 2023, his rating was not affected due to playing in a merged/pilot division. In 2024, he played in a combined 50+/65+ 3.5 flight, won 6 games and lost 18 games. In 2025, he played in a 65+ 3.5 flight, won 18 games and lost 18 games. He is requesting an appeal based on a medical condition, arthritis/tendonitis in his playing wrist. Based on last year results, he seems to be at the correct level (3.5)

East Valley | June | Gill | 3.65 | 3.0 | Rejected | Workflow Complete | NO REJECT June won 80% of games in 2025 She will totally dominate with any partner she plays with and she did play with many different partners which also shows she is dominating at 3.0 June is 65, no apparant medical issues so I feel she should stay at 3.5 where she will be competitive.

Southern | GREG | SCHOENBERG | 3.65 | 4.0 | Rejected | Workflow Complete | comes from small Tubac team Last year ended 3.65 65+ mixed team This creates a hard dilemma for the Tubac team with limited players. Greg has a much better win loss record in 65+ than in 50 + he definitely qualifies for the 65+ no exception limit. check to see the number of exceptions on 50+ already

Southern | Sue | Linton | 3.57 | 3.0 | Approved | Workflow Complete | Sue is a 3.57 player who is asking to play down to a 3.0. She is 75 years old and wants to play doubles with her husband who is a 3.0 and is 82 years old. She was quite sick this past spring and has had a hard time recovering. Sue and her husband played together last year in 30 games. They won 22 and lost 8. They gained 6 Appl points and allowed 12. Sue's rating bobbed around all year going between the 3.37 she started with and peaked for one game at 3.6 before going back to a 3.55. While she was over 3.5 most of the season it was usually 3.51, 3.55.... she only hit 3.6 at one time and only for one game of one match. While her husband COULD play up on a 3.5 team due to his age, his ratings are continuously low 3.2. with that being said, is she better than 3.0 yes, at 75 playing a a 65+ should that give her some grace when she plays with an 82 year old partner..... My feelings are if they are husband and wife and can even stand to play together on the same side.... they must be amazing people. I would vote yes based on age. But I realize I am pretty tenderhearted when it come to things like this. |
