Sue is a 3.57 player who is asking to play down to a 3.0. She is 75 years old and wants to play doubles with her husband who is a 3.0 and is 82 years old. She was quite sick this past spring and has had a hard time recovering.

Sue and her husband played together last year in 30 games. They won 22 and lost 8. They gained 6 Appl points and allowed 12.

Sue's rating bobbed around all year going between the 3.37 she started with and peaked for one game at 3.6 before going back to a 3.55. While she was over 3.5 most of the season it was usually 3.51, 3.55.... she only hit 3.6 at one time and only for one game of one match.

While her husband COULD play up on a 3.5 team due to his age, his ratings are continuously low 3.2.

with that being said, is she better than 3.0 yes, at 75 playing a a 65+ should that give her some grace when she plays with an 82 year old partner.....

My feelings are if they are husband and wife and can even stand to play together on the same side.... they must be amazing people. I would vote yes based on age. But I realize I am pretty tenderhearted when it come to things like this.

This one was a real pain. I had to look up every single person played as there is no indication within the rating if they were the 18+ team.....ugh

In the 18+ matches his rating dropped a total of .15. Added back into his final rating that brings him to a 2.93. Enough for an auto appeal.

Kathy has not played since 2023 in APPL. She has a current dupr of 4.275. SHE STARTED AT 3.95 and ended at 3.81 in 2023 in 4.0

Instead of having her do a self assessment I would say approve the appeal based on the current dupr.

George played 9 matches last year. He won 17 games and lost 10. He had 8 appl points earned and 6 allowed.

He played on a 65+ team and states he will be 72 this year. Three of the wins come due to a forfeit.

He states he has neuropathy in his feet and arthritis. His index is 4.01. He wants to play 3.5 again due to the increasing pain levels. He has disabled plates on his car he states.

It appears Saddlebrook adds their APPL matches into Dupr. His dupr is 4.42 HOWEVER there are only two appl matches in it that are fairly current and one has not been validated. The other ratings come from 2022.

Since he will be playing in the 65+ league I recommend we approve the rating of 3.5 as he is only 4.01 and the highest he got last year was 4.05. Neuropathy makes it very hard to play so I don't feel he has any advantage.
