Karen is requesting approval to play down from 3.54 to 3.0. She has not been active in Appl since 2023.
She played 3.0 in in 2022 starting at 3.2 and ending at 3.54. As a 3.0 she won 39 games and lost 9. She was moved to 3.5 with her starting rating of 3.54
as a 3.5 player she won 18 games and loss 40.
Her rating in 3.5 in 19 of the 58 games reached 3.5, while going no higher than 3.57. The rest of the games her rating was 3.5 or below.

Karen has taken it upon herself to do the self-rating and rated out at 3.0. I have known Karen since 2021 and know her to be honest and straightforward. My teams have played against her over the years as 3.0 and 3.5. She only won one game of my teams in any of the encounters. We played her 4x over two seasons.

I believe that Karen would do well in the 3.0 league and be able to build back up to the 3.5 level.

Audrey is requesting an appeal from 3.24 to 3.5. She feels that the Appl index does not adequately show her skills.
In 2025 she played 3.5 winning 8 games and losing 10. her index started at 3.23 and ended at 2.34
In 2024 she played 3.5 and started at 3.27 and went down to 3.23
playing 3.0 in 2023 she started at the assigned 3.2 level and increased to 3.27 as a 3.0.

I just don't see that there is any marked improvement over a three year span that warrants such a high rating jump. I recommend she be denied,

David has a rating of 4.61 and was asking to appeal down to continue to play with his. same team at 4.0. His main reason was his work schedule. He also stated that he would like to be hooked. up with a 4.5 team if denied.

Since Appl policy is to deny playing down except in very specific conditions (usually medical) I referred him to Scot Ritchie who is the 4.5 coordinator here in Tucson.

Recommend denial due to Appl policy.

Michael played in the APPL league 2023-2025. He is 75 yo, his current APPL Index Rating is 3.66 and he would like to appeal/play 3.0. In 2023, his rating was not affected due to playing in a merged/pilot division. In 2024, he played in a combined 50+/65+ 3.5 flight, won 6 games and lost 18 games. In 2025, he played in a 65+ 3.5 flight, won 18 games and lost 18 games. He is requesting an appeal based on a medical condition, arthritis/tendonitis in his playing wrist. Ruth is wanting to play 4.0 up from 3.52. At first glance you would think no way. However Her dupr is 3.88. She has 162 wins and 246 losses in her dupr rating. It is a solid rating.

Her tournament play shows that she can hang at 4.0.
To add some credence to my improvement claims I will list the tournaments I played in this spring/summer with my accomplishments from them.
* July 2025 Rock Chuck Tournament - Gold Medal in the Women's 4.0
* July 2025 Pacific Northwest Classic Tournament - Bronze Medal in the Women's 4.0
* July 2025 Pacific Northwest Classic Tournament - Bronze Medal in the Mixed 4.0
* August 2025 Sunriver, OR Pickleball Club Tournament - Gold Medal in the Women's 4.0/4.5
* September 2025 - Sunriver Slam Tournament - Qualified for the Bronze Medal Match in the Women's 4.0 but ended up 4th.

I recommend we grant the appeal.
