Thank you for the appeal process. I believe my rating is well below my skill level. I have played in 3.5 50+ for the last 3 years. Last year I played as a last minute addition to a 3.5 team because the team had many injuries and needed players. The team captain paired me with a player that just came back from a surgery and another player who was new to APPL and tournament style play, turns out she was overwhelmed. I played on this team in 2024 and won most of my games. Using my past 3.5 play my rating should have been well above 3.5 which would allow me to be an exception on 4.0 65+. If I had known about ratings I would have turned down the request to play with injured/recovering and newbie/lower rated players, but at the time I was happy to help. I regularly play with 4.0 players 3-4 times weekly who are APPL 4.0 players and agree that my play is above 3.0 and 3.5. My goal is to play on a 65+ 4.0. Basically I understand a ratings formula must be used but oddly some of us are going to fall into a gray area. Including Carol Acker and her teammates. There should be reevaluation based on a bigger picture. I agree I’m not a 4.0, but I should be an exception in order to play with my friends on their 65+ 4.0 team. I will be the only community teammate not playing with my team and other 3.5s will get to be exceptions, girls I regularly beat on the court. My tournament play is above 3.5, my community play is above 3.5 and I play weekly with and win against APPL and community 4.0 players. Please adjust my rating based on this limited information so that I start out above 3.5 and can be an exception. This is a lot to navigate and there are a few of us odd exceptions both high and low, I appreciate your help.
