I am submitting this appeal under the medical exemption category. In September 2024, I underwent bilateral knee replacement surgery. As a result, I did not compete in the men’s division during the 2025 season. I was listed as an alternate on a mixed team in case of injury but ultimately played more than anticipated—likely more than most. While I enjoy being part of an APPL team, returning to competitive play just 4–5 months after major surgery was overly ambitious.

I have not participated in any tournaments in Canada this summer. However, in May 2025, I received a skill-level assessment of 4.5 from Chris Cummings (IPTPA CRS-5), based in Scottsdale, Arizona.

My competitive history includes:

APPL play at the 4.0 level in 2023 and 2024
Canadian National Championship: Men’s 4.0 Gold, Mixed 4.0 Bronze
East Valley Tournament at Venture Out: Men’s 4.0 Gold (11th & 12th event)

After years of managing pain, I am now fully healthy and healed, and I’m excited about the opportunity to return to APPL play at the 4.0 level.
