I played 24 matches during the 2025 season with a record of ___ wins and ___ losses. Following the season, APPL gave me a 3.1 rating, which was unexpected because everyone on my team received ratings that placed them in the 2.5 category for the 2026 League Season. Consequently, I am appealing my rating score so I can play in the 2.5 APPL League for 2026. The following are supporting facts for my appeal:

· Our team coach calculated the points won and lost for all 12 team members. They were ranked from 1 to 12, 12 being the highest, and I came in 7th. All players who scored higher than me received an APPL rating between 2.5 and 2.9.

This APPL rating discrepancy puzzled the coaches and me.

· During the 2025 APPL League season I partnered with Gloria Holland (18 games) who received a 2.49, and Joanne Boyd (6 games) who received a 2.9 rating. Again, I am questioning how I earned a 3.1 rating?

· I love to play in this pickleball league and find that playing provides me a healthy social life, good exercise, and is therapeutic for me. Another factor, I wish you would consider, is that I am one of the oldest players (75) on the team and I have a pinched nerve in my back. The nerve pain is unpredictable and, when severe, limits my ability to play at the skill level required to be competitive at a 3.0 level. The only remedy for my pinched nerve is surgery, and that, unfortunately, is not an option for me. Therefore, playing at a 2.5 level is more realistic for me than playing at a 3.0 level.

In summary, I strongly desire to play another league season with our team at the 2.5 level/category and feel that I lack the skill level to play at the 3.0 level. I think I am an asset to our team, but I am not among our strongest players.
