| Internal Review Notes | Robert played 34 games last yea He lost 24 mens doubles matches, won 3. He lost 4 mixed double and won 3. He earned 6 appl points in mens doubles and allowed 2. He won 3 apple points in mixed and allowed two. He struggled all year with leg issues eventually having surgery to correct it. He states that subs scores might have been attributed to him but I would have know way of knowing if this was accurate. He played in 65+ last year and can do so again this year if he so chooses. In adding up all matches both doubles and mixed his average rating is a 2.9. I believe that he should be granted the appeal based on that, due to the unknown of whose scores are actually entered and no way to find out. If he chooses to play 65+ he is able to regardless. Duper is 3.006 |
| REQUIRED: | Good day, First, I would like to sincerely thank you for the work you are doing with APPL - your efforts are very much appreciated. As Co-Captain of the VAIL’d Threat Team, I also want to thank you for consideration and accepting the Team Captains’ recommendations to reevaluate and approve modifications to the 65+ Team structure (Exceptions Rule III.E.2). Even with the revised structure, we are still facing challenges forming a team for the upcoming season. Some of our players are dealing with medical issues, and several had their APPL Index lowered after the 2025 season. My own APPL Index was recently adjusted from just over 3.0 down to 2.83, with my current roster rating at 2.50. However, my DUPR rating is 3.008 for doubles and 3.5 for mixed doubles, and my self-assessment is 3.0. During last season, I struggled with severe leg pain that often prevented me from completing all six sets of matches. I frequently required a designated substitute to play in the final two sets. Later, I was diagnosed with Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), which caused the pain. After undergoing several surgeries, the PAD has now been successfully treated. In conversations with our Team Captain, Dan Miller, I began to question whether the matches where my substitutes filled in were correctly recorded and reported. If those substitute matches (which were losses) were attributed to me, that may have incorrectly influenced and lowered my APPL Index. For these reasons, I respectfully request that my rating be adjusted back to 3.0 for the upcoming season. Thank you again for all your hard work in keeping APPL moving forward, and for your consideration of this appeal. Sincerely,
Bob Salter |
