Roster Rating Standard Appeal

He wants to play 4.0 with a rating of 4.64.

Dupr is 4.228 and current as of August.

He won 41 games and lost 12.
He earned 8 Appl points and allowed 23 Appl points.

He played this in a mixed flight of 50/65 4.0/4.5
He says his partner didn't go over....his partner is fully .1 lower than him every week.

he is unwilling to travel out of Saddlebrook to player on a higher level team as his community will not have a 4.5 team.

Last year I played on a 65+ 4.0 team which played against 2 teams rated at 4.5, that were included in the 4.0/4.5 flight for our southern division. I played in 2 matches (12 games against these 2 teams). I looked at the current ratings and 6 of these players that are currently rated at 4.5 of which I played against in 2025, I went 0-6. My partner ( Russ Oster) and I have played together for all 3 years in this league and although his APPL index is 4.45, he qualifies to play on the Saddlebrooke ranch 4.0 team, but I do not. We also have played in 5 tournaments together(all at 4.0) in the past year, and his DUPR rating for mens doubles, is actually higher than mine. So I feel the APPL algorithm is not completely accurate as far as my current index and where it mandates me to play. Furthermore, I am requesting an exemption to play on a 50+ team , even though I am 65 years old. I feel this should also enter in to the equation, as I would be playing against younger opponents. I do not feel comfortable playing in the 4.5 level this coming season, and will not play unless I can play with my home team. Furthermore, the options for joining a 4.5 team in my area are limited, and I do not want to travel continuously throughout the season as our development will not be supporting a 4.5 team this coming season. If I am granted an exemption to play at the 4.0- 50+ for the upcoming season, then I will plan on joining our team and then will know where I stand for the 2027 season. I realize that all of the different rating systems are not perfect and I appreciate the time and effort spent to make the system work. However, the difference between my APPL rating (4.64) and my DUPR rating (4.228) which is a .412 difference is significant and should be taken into account. When playing in tournaments at the 4.0 level, I have not dominated, but have won slightly more than half of the games. I feel these results are more indicative of the level where I should be playing.
