Roster Rating Standard Appeal

Kim's rating is .01 off a fast track appeal. Wants to appeal to 3.5

Over the past couple of years of play her rating has kind of danced all around the 3.2, 3.3 range. Never over a 3.5

When she played mixed her losses were 17 compared to 7 wins, 4 appl points earned and 8 allowed. That is a 41% win ratio in mixed.

In gender doubles she was 50/50. She had five wins and five losses. She earned 4 appl points and allowed to.

She speaks of two really dominant mixed teams and when I look at them I do see players that play 4.0 regularly in tournaments etc. That might account for the 41% ratio.

She played in 50+ in both of those even though she qualified for 65+. I don't know if it is because Tubac only has 'x' number of teams available.

I have reached out to Naomi Giles from Green Valley to see if she has an opinion on, or knows her play. No response

She is qualified to play on a 65+ team if one is available in Tubac. Limited teams available there. I would be inclined keep her playing and say yes.

She has 14 DUPR matches in 2024. 3.668

I would like to continue playing at the 3.5 level as I believe I was more competitive at that level last year than my win/loss ratio would indicate.

In our Mixed 3.5 league, there were two very dominant teams - as indicated by the fact that most of PIKLZ have been moved up to 4.0 and several from Just Dill With It have also been moved up to 4.0,

For our Mixed matches with the other 3.5 team, Weezers & Geezers, my partner and I won 7 of the 12 games, and earned 4 points in the other five games, so I do believe we were competitive at that level. In fact, my partner, Mark Ghio, remained at the 3.5 APPL rating level.

In our Women's 3.5 league, I only played two matches. In both, I was partnered with 3.0 players playing up a level. Cathy Marrero and I won 3 games of 6, and took two other points, and Cathy has since been approved to play at 3.5 next year. However, Kathleen Chambers and I did not win any games, although we did take two points. (Kathleen only played that one match and has dropped to 2.5 in APPL.)

I was happy to play with Kathleen when our team captain asked, but I did not stop to consider what the losses might do to my APPL rating.

I have been playing against 3.5 level players in rec play since league ended (Green Valley, Tubac, Quail Creek, Sierra Vista), and I feel I have been competitive. I have also been mentored by some 4.0 players and have been actively working to improve my game. I do understand why the algorithm would have lowered me down to 3.34. However, I believe it would be detrimental to my progress to go back and play at the 3.0 level next season.

Therefore, I am respectfully requesting that my Roster Rating be increased to 3.5 for the 2026 season. Please let me know if there is any additional information you need to make a decision.
